Last month, I announced that I would publish my first e-book through the imprint King’s Men Press. Today, I’m pleased to introduce you to The Lookout and Other Stories.
A chapbook of short fiction, The Lookout will collect previously published and unpublished work, including an excerpt from my novel The Last Night. Over the years, friends and readers have kindly asked where they can find my writing, only to be disappointed when I say that copies of the small journals are difficult to find. Now, I have a better answer.
The digital version will be available exclusively on Kindle for the first 90 days. By enrolling in the Kindle Select program for that period, Amazon Prime users will be able to borrow the book from the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library. The plan is to attract more readers by lowering barriers as much as possible. If you read it and like it, you’ll be able to purchase a copy for $0.99. Wider distribution through other e-readers such as Nook and iBooks will come later.
A paperback edition will also premiere on Amazon, followed by Barnes & Noble and other online retailers immediately afterward. Production is on schedule to release both books later this month.
I’ve improved as a craftsman since the publication of some of these pieces, so I’ve revised them to my current standards. I’d been tweaking them for years before I even I planned this book since there was always something to improve, however small. (It’s just what I do.) The more I work on this collection, the more I’m excited to share it with you. Stay tuned for updates.
